Xadria didn't question any further regarding the Fortune Teller - who had yet failed to introduce herself; she would just have to trust what Mayriah was saying, and not press anything, just observe closely. It was rather challenging to say her own opinion yet: no wizarding instincts could guide her along, but it was strange to think that such an object could hold so much power.
Seth said something, not quite able to be made out from their distance, to Finn.
"Right: I bet that's it." She said dryly, either baiting and honest reaction, or just commenting aimlessly. Because seth looked like he needed loads of help.

May opened her mouth to retort, when the woman broke in. "I am Madam Lizeal. Fourtune teller extrodinare slash seer slash the only person who knows anything around here."
May looked at her with slitted eyes. Gee, this woman was warm. Staring at the orb, she struggled for the feeling she had gotten earlier, but there was nothing. Maybe Lizeal- and that orb- was a fake.
Shaking her head once more, she looked over at Seth. Why did she care so much? It wasn't that big of a deal. No dating, no crushes, nada. That was what Alnar said. That was her code.
She sat down and smiled at the Gator person who offered her a bowl of soup and smiled back. Lizeal had disappeared and Mel had gone off to the bathroom. May sat in silence. Being alone simply didn't bother her. Well, yes it did, but she was far too used to it to care. Ish.
"So, Erik man, that was seriously cool!" Ronny was saying to Erik in bright tones. "Here...I wanted to give you this." He held out an amulet to Erik, who, in surprise, took it. "Thanks! Erm...what is it?" "It means your one of us." For some reason, the words, innocent enough, came menacing to May's ears, but hey. The dude was a gator. "Can I have one?" Kara piped up. sticking out her hand. Ronny, who had been warm to Erik, shifted and said icily "Sorry, that was the last one." And left. Kara looked vaughly put out, but Erik laughed. "Its just a silly gift. I'm not going to run away with the circus or something." Kara nodded, reassured. "Your right."

{You are really much too hard on your literary genius.} Xadria turned her head subtly to look at May, silently inquiring if she had found anything wrong, sensed something in the materials. She didn't have much hope for getting as response though, as Seth opened his mouth, happily swallowing a sthingyful of soup.
"Oh, c'mon, May! Eat something! It's good; keep up your energy!" He said brightly. Ironically, even as the words were spoken, he became slightly aware of a light, drowsy sensation sweeping over him; barely noticeable, but to later realize he was more tired than he'd thought. If he'd noticed the feeling, it disappeared as Finn said something quietly to him, barely audible. {Basically, all that happens next is everyone falls asleep, right? ^^}

{{OOC//: I thank you! And, its them getting ready to leave, Erik is missing, Seth goes "Where's Erik? I told him I wanted to leave before I got hungry again! *grumble* Too late." And they get knocked out.}}
May turned her head to answer Xadria with a stare of her own. She was too tired, too angry, too concerned over this strange event to care about anything too much. At Seth's comment she started with a sharp reply before stopping herself. What good would that do? She softened the tone, but the words still came out with a bit of harshness. "Actually, I'm not hungry. I'll eat an apple or something later." That said, she got up and left. Where had Mel gotten too...?

The others finished their meal, but it seemed only Seth was paying any attention to what they were saying. Erik didn't seem completely disinclined to listen, and Kara just kept staring with a fixed fascination at Gator-Boy. After May left, though, Xadria was only fixed on her soup, feeling awkward without her. Could've been worse though: she could've been left with Melosa.
After the semi-uncomfortable meal, the Defenders moved back towards their Stormers. Seth was quite content, it seemed, until a brief shadow darkened his face, "Where's Erik?" he asked abruptly, "I told him I wanted to leave before I got hungry again." He opened his mouth to say more, but his stomach grumbled audibly and his words sunk down into a, "Too late." [Sorry. A bit o' powerplaying there. =/]

{{OOC//: No no! That was GOOD! We seriously critique ourselves too much ^^ }}
May was studiously examining her surroundings, moreso to avoid Seth's gaze then anything else. She was acting like a preadolesent child, but she was a girl. That was enough of an excuse right there. "I think-" Mel started to say before something large whirred around their heads. Quick as a flash, May grabbed her stones and cried "Barricade-" But the object was a fast, if not faster, then here. It hit her head and she fell down, unconcious. Mel was next to go down, much slower then May.
{{OOC//: That sounded bad, but I meant that May had expierence saving people ><}}

{No, it didn't; no worries, I get it. ^^} Xadria was out like a light almost instantly. She wasn't prepared, and she wasn't holding up any reasonable defenses: there was hardly any chance. The team fell down around her progressively, and she was engulfed in darkness.
The first thing she heard waking up was Kara's voice stating the obvious question: "What happened?" Xadria pushed herself up shakily on her arms, not seeing much clearly. As her image cleared up a bit, she could hear Kara's next words, and understand them with dreadful clarity, "Where's Erik? Where's my brother?"

{{OOC//: That's really good! ^^ }}
May pulled herself up groggily, touching the large bump on her head. It hurt like she had bashed it across a rock several times. "We have to get him back!" Kara wailed, burying her face in Seth's arms, who had hugged her. May felt a stab of pity for this girl. It seemed like everyone was losing someone. "We will get him back." She said soothingly, bending down to Kara's level.
Mel looked troubled, as if remembering some far off memory. May looked up suspiciously. "Mel? Is something...wrong?" Mel looked up, startled. "Oh...no, I'm just worried about...Erik." "Aren't we all." May stood up and glanced over at Xadria.

Xadria's eyes narrowed slightly, "Where's the circus?" Of course, she was sure they'd all noticed its absence, but no one had commented. Suspicion darkened her expression completely as her head did a 360' of the area.
Suddenly, Kara let out another wail, "They're gone! And they took my brother!" As if they weren't aware of it.
Xadria turned to May, mildly panicked, "How are we supposed to find them?" She asked frantically.

{{OOC//: ^^^^*looks at May's post*^^^^*looks at Xadria's post*^^^^*is confused*}}
May gently hugged Kara, trying not to let her own fear show on her pale face. "We'll get him back, Kara." She said calmly, glancing over at the others as if to say 'Right?' "We'll get him back." *~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~* "We'll call you Erik the Great! Strongest man in the land! He can lift a house right over his head!" Finn called, watching Erik lift a caravan high in the air. "So...uh...your friends were okay with you staying?" "Friends?" The proud expression on his face was turned to confusion. "Hey, Finn!" Ronny materialized at their side. "The Tumbler Twins are looking for you." "Oh, cool...later Erik!" As she walked away, the Gauntlet lit up. "WHOA? Does it always do that?" Ronny said in alarm, backing away. "I have no ide-EEEEAAAAA!" Erik threw his arm in the air and covered his eyes and the Gauntlet let out an explosion of light.

A sudden burst of light broke over the tops of the trees in the distance, and, as if they hadn't seen it, Xadria cried out a little in surprise and note. Kara didn't react much differently, only her shriek had words to it:
"Erik!" She cried out, gravitating towards her Stormer almost immediately, her eyes alight with child-like hopefulness.

May turned so sharply she gave herself a crick in the neck. Rubbing it, she looked over at Seth. Mel, however, answered.
"Looks like its not too far. Come on!" He called, running forwards. Mel hurried after. May grabbed Kara's hand and pulled her after them. "Come Xad, time to go do our rescue...thing."
Hidden in the shrubs, Mel turned at May's approaching footsteps. "Is SHE here too?" She said rudely, knowing full well Xadria was barely an inch away. "Yes." May said shortly. She didn't feel like getting into it.

Awkwardly, Xadria actually couldn't care less what Mel was saying. At the same time as it wasn't helping her feel welcome to the team, she would probably have said something somewhat similar, had their positions been reversed.
The distant shape of the caravans were becoming a sharper focus, the domed roofs breaking over the horizon in a light gray. There were no apparent figures outside, as far as Xadria could tell, and the entire place looked like an abandoned case. {The Tumbler Twins come first, right? I can't remember, so... yeah. ^^;}

{{OOC//; They split into groups. Mel goes to find the Stones, Seth and Kara off to get Erik. Shall we make Xadria and May just be lookout?}}
May closed her eyes and opened then again, praying for clarity. The darkness of the forest, combined with the fading sun, made it difficult to tell if something was real or an illusion. A fine thing for a circus. She thought wryly.
"Alright. Mel, you go find our Stones. May, Xadria, walk around as lookout. Kara and I will go find Erik." Seth whispered. May nodded, with a glance at Xadria and turned around, intending to jump to the top of the tree and make sure no one was coming.

[^^ I knew I should ask first. xD It's a very nice post. =D] Seth wore a dark frown on his face, carefully stepping around then side of the caravan, "Kara, do you think we should check inside?" He couldn't believe he was asking her a question like that: he was the leader, but she was the sister. Somehow that one seemed to make more difference.
"May, what happens when we find him?" Xadria asked abruptly, "Are we just taking him, or are we... I dunno, fighting back?"

{{OOC//: LOL. Yours is very nice too. =] }}
May looked down from the branch she was sitting on, scanning the surrounding area. Her face showed puzzlement. "I...I don't know Xadria." She confessed. "If they have him under some sort of spell, then grabbing him and running won't do any good. I think they might have him brainwashed." ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

Xadria bit her lip, concerned, "Seriously?" her face washed pale as she shivered slightly, despite the sun. The idea of brainwashing was so inhumane, so cruel and twisted, like dark magic someone warped around screwed up thoughts, "But that's so...." and she couldn't even find the words to put her disgust into a sentence.
Seth peered around the side of the caravan, wondering if he could spot Mel anywhere nearby. She was completely out of sight, and he feared her hunt for the stones was, so far, unsuccessful.

"I know." May said gently. It seemed that some people were still slowly awakining to what was going on around them; closing their eyes and humming wasn't going to work anymore. The idea of brainwash did nothing to sooth her temper, but brainwashing was removable- as opposed to other methods of control.
Mel crept cautiously into the great caravan, her spine tingling with a curious fear. She prised open the lid to a stone chest and sighed in relief; there were her stones, Kara's bag, Seth's pouch, May's sidder and Xadria's stones. She scooped them up, but before she turned an icy chill ran down her back. "Why do I feel like I'm being...WATCHED!" Spinning around, she knew she had her answer.
