May's mouth twitched in a smile. "Oh, I see. My history can be blabbed to all and any-including my own brother killed not just the Defenders, but my parents-but yours is far too secretive?"
She fingered her Guardian Stone, her head thingyed to the side to look at Xadria. "Its not like i'm asking anything private, really. Are you a Defender? If yes-where have you been all this time? If no...what is your purpose coming? I'm trained to be polite...I won't ask about family."

She looked a bit ashamed, knowing May was right, but she was hugely unwilling to talk, really.
"I'm grateful for that, really. Mainly I've been in Ogama-Gor, just sort of... wandering, I suppose. Nothing hugely fascinating, really." She admitted. The only thing that bothered her of all of this was the family mentions, and she gave in, keeping her history a bit shortened.
"My parents were killed twelve years ago, and I lived with my sister with our aunt. She disappeared after a while, and Keirindine and I stayed there on our own." She dropped it there, thinking this sufficiant. The way Xadria spoke of the story was sort of carefree, like it was just... something once written, then shared.

May closed her eyes for a moment. When she opened them, they were filled with understanding. "I grieve for you." She said quietly. It was far better then 'I'm sorry' and better then any condolence. And who knew better then she how it was to lose loved ones? "But now there is nowhere to gp but up. Onward and upward."
"And your sister?" May regretted asking instantly. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to pry. But 12 years ago...you must be a Defender as well!" Smiling, she called forth her Guardian. A giant spectral wofl, whose head was thingyed in a way that May had perfected-as if you were being examined, soul first.
"Now then, I should tell you a bit of myself and Adam, since you seemed so concerened." May continued, easily saddling Ceberius. Strocking the grey/silver fur absentmindeldy, she looked at Xadria. "He's my oldest and dearest friend. He's saved my life more times then I can account for, but then, I've saved his when he feels a little loose-fingered." She grinned at a memory. "And as fond of him as I am, he's only like a brother, or a highly annoying cousin." At this she laughed. "I can't seem him as anything else."
That being said, her thoughts strayed once more, but she knew better then to let them and forced herself back to the present, to the place they were at this very moment. "Do you know how to ride this?" She inquired, looking at her bike. She was fond of it, despite its habit of crashing on her at high-altitudes. "Simply put your warrior stone in that slot and go."

Thank you, Confucious. Xadria thought sourly, though she was probably mainly bitter because she knew Mayriah was right. It was that cruel reality of everything, that something could be so simply said, and not so easily done. It wasn't fair, really, knowing something was like that, and having to accept it.
She tweaked a small smile, keeping her face calm. Her voice was strangely un-leveled though, high pitched and a little uneven, "I suppose it does..." She said thoughtfully, eyes looking a little spacy for a moment, before refocusing harshly.
With all Mayriah's words, Xadria couldn't help but to feel a pang of relief, overcoming that bit of jealousy she knew was present too; how they had known each other for so long was beyond her, but she was undeniably glad.
"I dunno, I can try..." She was a bit hesitant, but, with a slightly questioning look to May, as if inquiring permission, she slid the stone into place, "I should hope you'll give me instructions." Her guardian was a tad too small to ride, regrettably.

Mayriah smiled, sadly. "Up and onward." She said again, gently. Alnar's favourite phrase for her. She could see Xadria's relief and laughed. "Worried that badly? Trust me, I don't like him. At all."
You like someone else. Shut UP Ceb!
"Here." Mayriah dismounted and pointed to her bike. "Put your Warrior Stone here and your hands here. This knob is speed. Forwards is faster. Pull the handlebars back to lift up, forwards to down. Remove your hands to stop."

Xadria grinned sheepishly, "Well, yeah."
She nodded, mounting the bike uncertainly, "And I'll just go to match your speed, I s'pose?" She was a bit nervous, in all honesty; she was going to meet the other defenders, and the bike couldn't matter less to her.
Finally.

May laughed and mounted Ceberius again. "I'll try and move slowly to make sure the bike works." She said. "Ceb tends to move pretty fast though."
Leaning down to the wolf's ears, she whispered something in a strange tounge and suddenly, they were off.

Xadria nervously grinned and followed behind, unsteady on her ride, but stable enough to stay next to Mayriah. She wasn't quite sure how well she'd be heard, but she called over to the other girl.
"When d'you expect we'll arrive to see them?" Where was a good question too, but there was enough connection to the recent events to keep her a little less inquisitive on that front.

May slowed Cerberious a little to ensure she rode alongside the new Defender. Easily fitting her Guardian's stride, she turned to face Xadria.
"I can't say for sure. Perhaps an hour, maybe more. I've met them for a few moments. There is Erik, the technical Defender. His little sister Kara is the adventurous type, but I suspect there is more to her then meets the eye. Melosa is the patient, level headed one. I'll warn you, she has a crush on Adam, although she distrusts him slightly. But don't worry, Adam has never looked at someone the way he looks at you. And then there's Seth, the leader."
She broke off there.

Her face bright with a sort of delighted, slightly-embarrassed beam, Xadria didn't bother worrying too much about Melosa - whether this was wise or not was irrelivant, but she didn't focus too much on the other said female.
"And what about Seth, the leader?" She pressed curiously. was this break-off, perhaps, connected to May's affections?

May's mouth curved in delight at Xadria's obvious happiness. "It doesn't take much to make you happy, huh?" She teased.
She shrugged nonchalantly. At least, she hoped. "Like I said, it was only for a moment. An excellent Castor, from the looks of him. Intelligent." She said, like the topic wasn't of grave importance. "Favors the sigils Dako and Nega. Guardian of Stone named Kragous. Nothing unusual."

She blushed again. It didn't need to be said that she actually did take a lot to be happy, but, apparently, not so much anymore... a boy as a weakness; she didn't see that coming.
Xadria smirked, "But you seem to know an awful lot about him for someone only there for a moment..." She pointed out, a little teasing, a little seriously.

She inwardly kicked herself. I knew it, I knew it, why can't I just SHUT UP!
"Maybe I was there for more then a few moments." She admitted. "They all seem really nice. They know what they're doing."
She refused to let this girl in any further. I do NOT have a crush. She said sternly.

Xadria shrugged loosely, "More than a few moments? Oh yes, I'm so sure. How is it that one managed to obtain so little information about the others, and yet make so many more observances regarding the others?" Her inquisitive side was breaking free.

May frowned. "Erm...that's a good question. Which I will answer. When we get there."
She laughed. "You know, this is actually the first time I've opened up to a complete stranger. Normally I'm so...guarded...but I suppose, after what Brakkus did to me when I was younger..."
She trailed off into silence.

Xadria grinned a bit, triumphant for having worn the other girl down enough to a bit of a confession. Well, she was taking it that way, anyway.
She nodded, though; she was generally quite reserved too, tending to be silent and less conversational.
"What did he do to you - if you don't mind my asking?"

May hesitated. "He...he hunted me down when I was younger. Before I knew he was my brother. Adam did his best to protect me...but when he ran away, I lost focus for a bit. Brakkus...captured me when I was eight and held me as his slave for two years."
She looked into the passing scenary without seeing. "It was two dark years."

Xadria swallowed hard; that was horrible, cruel, and twisted on so many levels she could hardly fathom. She didn't bother asking more, as she understood how awkward or unpleasant certain topics were.
"I'm sorry." Was really all she managed, seeing as she was generously attempting to keep out where she knew she probably didn't belong.

May turned her head and smiled softly. "Why? Did you capture me, put me in chains and whip me every night? Don't feel bad for me. If anything, I learned that if you say 'Go f*ck a coconut you monkey' it results in a lot of fun."
She laughed, but broke off almost instantly. "We're almost there."
{{OOC//: Have you not noticed when he smiles he looks like a monkey?! Before we stopped being friends, Neff made that line up. I remarked the monkieness}}
